🌿Spring planting: Best within a month or so after the last frost. The exact date varies by region. Don't plant too early, because if seeds are sown before a late frost, they won't germinate.
🌵Summer planting: Only advisable for cooler areas where temperatures aren't at 80° or above for extended periods.
🍁Fall planting: Wildflowers naturally shed seed in the fall. Clear the soil after the first frost and sow seeds that will grow in early spring.
Where to plant?
Average sun exposure: Most wildflowers thrive in full sun, although some tolerate or prefer filtered shade.
Soil quality: Wildflowers grow well in most conditions. Avoid overfertilizing, as this can encourage weeds. Fertilize only if the soil is very poor.
Water availability: Natural rainfall is usually sufficient. In dry regions or during periods of drought, water every other day for the first few weeks until roots have formed.

How to Sow Your Seed 1 The Hand-Broadcast Method (for smaller jobs): Simply scattering the seed evenly over the site by hand.
2 The Rotary or “Cyclone” Seeder (for larger jobs). This method accomplishes the same results through the use of a hand-cranked spreader that can be purchased relatively cheaply at any garden center.
